J&J Partners have combined 40 years of experience to offer customized workshops that aim to enhance individual, team, department, division and organizational capability. From our work in higher education, corporate and community settings, we bring our vast knowledge ranging from developing policies and procedures, to coaching, training, and advising for para and professional staff; as well as mental health counseling, student mentoring, program/case management and recruiting/human resources.

We have led trainings and workshops to support teams and departments in their desire to grow and learn about various trends. Dr. Steven B. Jubert, Jr.

Dr. Steven B. Jubert, Jr. has over seventeen years of experience in leadership development, advising student organizations, and staff supervision. With experience ranging from developing policies and procedures, to coaching, training, and advising for para and professional staff, to teaching in urban school districts, Dr. Jubert rigorously engages with protocol, management of emergency situations, strategic planning, and implementation of programs and services for residential communities. As a proficient program planner and presenter, he has extensive knowledge and the ability to apply the principles of liberal education and student development theory in various educational settings. Dr. Jubert’s dissertation research focused on the role supervision in Student Affairs plays in new professionals’ persistence in the field, job satisfaction and professional development.  Throughout his career, Dr. Jubert has successfully presented on topics which focus on the well-being of professionals in academia. 

Karen Jubert, MEd, LPC-S, NCC

Karen Jubert, MEd, LPC-S, NCC began her professional career as a Mechanical Engineer in the Automotive industry. During this time, she discovered her passion for helping individuals grow through their professional and interpersonal challenges. She is now a Licensed Professional Counselor and works as a Mental Health Counselor at a local university and Support Group Facilitator with a local community organization. Karen has more than 20 years of combined professional experience in higher education, corporate, community and private mental health agency settings. Throughout her diverse career, she has held roles that encompassed interpersonal, addiction and career counseling, student mentoring, program and case management, leadership development, strategic planning, staff training and supervision and recruiting/human resources. Her counseling experience has involved helping students, individuals, groups, couples and families with therapeutic treatment, crisis intervention and social service referrals. She is motivated in knowing that everyone deserves the opportunity to enjoy a fulfilling school/work life, regardless of their past or current circumstances. Her interest in Compassion Fatigue, Compassion Satisfaction and Burnout are a result of professional development, her own journey towards living a life of self-care and her years of working with individuals who have a passion for their work, yet experience fatigue and burnout from the accumulated effect of personal, professional and organizational stressors. Karen has successfully presented on various professional development topics to students in educational settings and to professionals at workshops and conferences.
